Code of ethics
THE SALVADORAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM is a non-profit, apolitical, non-profit, or religious association, regulated by the Laws of the Republic of El Salvador.
The union's main objective is to promote the development of the tourism industry in El Salvador and represent the interests of this sector, position tourism as a fundamental element of economic and social development due to its direct and indirect effects on economic activity, job creation , foreign currency capture and improvement in people's quality of life.
In this document, when referring to CASATUR, the Chamber, the union, should be understood as SALVADOREAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM.
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
This document is addressed to the officials and employees of the CHAMBER.
It must be disclosed periodically among its collaborators and raise internal awareness of the importance of its disclosure and compliance.
The Covid-19 pandemic declared by the World Health Organization - WHO, has represented one of the strongest blows to the union due to the restrictions implemented in the economic activities of the country.
Such effects have limited the full exercise of the Chamber's activities, reduced the number of its affiliates and partners, limiting its resource capacity for the benefit of the tourism sector in general and its members in particular.
Confidentiality
Throughout many years of work, the SALVADORAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM has managed to promote different programs and projects with various actors and national and international organizations, both public and private, in favor of the development and sustainability of tourism in El Salvador, in this sense there are intangible values that are protected in order to safeguard the information and KNOW HOW of the union. Consequently, every collaborator will be obliged to keep the strictest confidentiality regarding data of clients, suppliers, partners, allies, donations, contributions, subsidies and processes, etc.
Failure to comply with this policy will terminate the employment contract without responsibility of the employer and will make the contractor responsible for the damages and losses caused to the SALVADORAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM.
Every employee who is hired by the SALVADORAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM must sign a confidentiality agreement, which can be incorporated into the Individual Work Contract or separately.

Interest conflict
In any of the activities of the Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism, it must be ensured that:

Decision-making is based exclusively on technical and professional criteria, in benefits of the development of the country's tourism industry and that it is not used for personal gain.

The use of union funds is not for private purposes, under any circumstances.

Collaborators must refrain from giving or receiving gifts, benefits or favors that condition the union's commercial relationship with third parties.
Organizational climate
The Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism is committed to:

Provide our employees and key partners with a harmonious, trustworthy, pleasant, clean and stable environment.

Maintain a safe work environment free from all physical, verbal, emotional and psychological violence.

Prohibit sentimental relationships between union collaborators.

Do not allow sexual harassment or any other type of harassment towards union personnel in the workplace or while carrying out any activity of the organization.
Non-Discrimination Policy
That in many workplaces worldwide there is human discrimination in any of its manifestations, which we believe is not in accordance with the values and principles of the SALVADORAN CHAMBER OF TOURISM and its union interests to favor the sector,
The Chamber expressly prohibits discrimination in any of its forms, whether based on sex, race, creed, nationality, political preference, sports, and even disability.
Recruitment of relatives
The hiring of family members is allowed as long as there is a technical basis that makes it possible to clearly and objectively identify their training, skills and competencies, and the decision to hire a collaborator is being made.
Compliance with laws and local legislation
The Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism is regulated by the Laws of the Republic of El Salvador, the statutes and internal regulations that it develops, as established in Chapter I, Article ONE, first paragraph of the deed of the Chamber's statutes.
In this sense, the Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism will expressly comply with all applicable fiscal, governmental, environmental, competition, ethical and other regulations.
Money and asset laundering
The Salvadoran Chamber of Tourism, as part of the internal controls to prevent Money and Asset Laundering, will initially implement some forms for customer knowledge and integrity of the same. Likewise, a digital and physical file of each of the employees, partners, affiliates, suppliers and donors of the CHAMBER will be kept.

This Code of Ethics will enter into force as of January 4, two thousand twenty-one.
